Did you know WonderWorks was a top-secret laboratory in the Bermuda triangle? On a remote island, in the mysterious Bermuda Triangle, there was a top-secret research laboratory led by Professor Wonder. While working on an experiment to harness the power of a tornado, something went terribly wrong! The wind grew stronger than expected! Professor Wonder tried to stop the experiment, but the swirling vortex was too strong to be contained! The power of the tornado was unleashed into the laboratory! The mighty cyclone ripped the building from its foundation, and carried the lab hundreds of miles away where it finally landed upside-down!
So many guests ask the question, if the building is upside-down how am I going to see all the things if they are on the ceiling? With the ceiling under your feet and the ground above your head, WonderWorks will turn your world upside down. Pass through the inversion tunnel to realign yourself and start your adventure! WonderWorks favorite exhibits include the bed of nails, the astronaut training gyro and the hurricane shack.
Hold on tight! You do not want to be blown away! Leaving its own path of destruction behind, the hurricane is one of the most common Natural Disasters in the world. This fast-cycling storm is made up of a low-pressure center, spiral collection of thunderstorms that produce heavy rain and sometimes hail, and powerful winds that can reach over 155 MPH! Enter the Hurricane Shack to experience category 1 hurricane force winds of 74 MPH!
Every great scientist knows that pressure is the application of force to the surface of an object. When you step on a single nail, your foot puts a large amount of force onto the small surface area of that nail, easily piercing your skin. It is the principle of pressure! What do you think will happen when you lie down on 3500 NAILS?
Experience the feeling of weightlessness and the rolls and tumbles that astronauts feel when they are conquering missions in space. The Astronaut Training Gyroscope will spin and rotate in multiple, random directions as it simulates the effects that outer space has on humans. Visit them at www.WonderWorksOnline.com.
